There is a story told in the bible about two women, one called Hagar and the other Hannah. Interestingly enough the situation they found themselves in was due to another woman. Mmmh why am I not surprised. I would love to think the bible is an achaic record that proves trends and patterns in human behaviour, as that may be it’s not the topic for today .
Hagar the maid servant to Sarah finds her self at the abuse of her master, driven away into the wilderness she was meant to die there and be forgotten ,she and her son . You see it is Sarah that suggested that Abraham sleep with a maidservant so as to give him an heir, yet God had told her to wait for the Son of Thier old age and she just could not believe it! Now when both boys were grown she could not handle Ishmael being stronger and older and an heir to her husband’s estate. If I were to bluntly say this she brought it upon her self and so she drives the Egyptian woman away. God also says she should go, and tells Abraham he will make Ishmael a great nation also. What I did not think Abraham would do is give them a measly bottle of water into the wilderness. Long story short their provisions finish and they can’t keep on anymore so she leaves her son out of site to die and the boy wails and she also cried, then she is told get up go take the boy and she sees a well. God restores her hope,dignity and also gives her back what she could have lost.
Next we see Hannah who was greatly loved by her husband but she also could not bare him a son. The bible says she was bitter in her soul(painful)/heartbroken), Penniah was the evil sister wife that ridiculed Hannah for being baren so much such that it drove her crazy enough to go to the temple , pray to God and there were no words to be heard , this made priest Eli think she was drunk! The bible says she was Sore at heart. She promises God to give back the boy to serve him. She just wants God to open her womb to prove she can bare a child. She did not ask for many but just 1!
These two stories made me think of the psalmit. In Psalms 23:
KJV Psalms 23:5
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
When God restores your honour! When God gives back and wipes away your tears he does not hide it . Is it not that you sufferd in public, everyone knew that you are a good for nothing that derseves to be cast out,laughed ,deserted and isolated. Well let me assure you that the blessings that come your way you cannot handle them . God is making mockery of your enemies. He says be still and know that I am God! Sometimes you have got to let people have a field day about your life, mock you, abuse you,betray you, lose every friend and every possession maybe even be homeless it’s an uncomfortable notion and reality to face. Though that maybe if we harken to the word of God, psalms 23 :1 says the Lord is my shepherd . John says,KJV John 10:27
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: When we hear his Voice and keep his commandments, JV John 10:11
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. We shall never need, we shall be restored our patience in the Lord will be rewarded.
KJV Isaiah 40:31
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
finally. A story is told. About a young boy who was walking with his father. Along the journey he starts to get tired, wanted rest ,he wanted to give up, he wanted to stop. The father told him to carry on. As time went by he looks at the send and sees only one print of the footprints . He says to the father where are you? He says I am right here. The boy says but why do I only see my footprints, the father said son those are mine, I am carrying you so that we reach out destination. God cares, he sees your tears, he knows what you desire. What you have lost is not more important than what you will gain! Even if it’s your reputation or you have been embarrassed. God will give you back tenfold of what you have lost. God will restore back your Joy. I have to say this let God carry you, forget the world and focus on him.
God i have been hurt,betrayed both by me and the world, I have beat myself so hard but it cannot bring me closer to you, I want what I have lost restored in the blink of an eye but I have yet to understand that your ways are yours and my plans are mine and far too small, lead me to the still waters let me sleep in the hollow of thy hand let the storm pass. Let me be unshaken , erect my faith like the pillars that build new Jerusalem, let me put my hope in thee.
Pray until God hears your cry,pray until they think you are drunk. Be drunk with the Holy spirit! Be drunk in prayer enough to move God in his seat to give you that which you want just to give it back to God! Sometimes we need God to validate us and not the World, to the world we would just be proving that the God we serve in heaven does not take well to us being mistreated. Remember God loves you. Amen.

9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.Take courage! May God bless you.
